To manually enter data into FishBC 3.0 we provide you with fully functional spreadsheets.  The spreadsheets function like most popular spreadsheets. You can copy/paste data, tab to the next column, delete blocks of cells, etc. If you want to delete individual cells simply highlight the cells and click the delete button. If you want to delete entire rows and shift the remaining row below up left click the cell in the first column (gray cell) of the row you want to delete then right click. A popup menu will appear, click "Delete Row". You can also highlight a block of rows by clicking on the first cell of a row (gray cell) and drag your mouse up or down until all the rows you wish to delete are highlighted. Right click in the first cell (gray cell) of the highlighted block and click "Delete Row". All highlighted rows will be deleted and the remaining rows will shift up.

Below is an example of a FishBC 3.0 spreadsheet.  Click on the title or image for a larger view.  If the image doesn't look quite right use the zoom feature in your browser.  Sometimes the individual lines do not show up will at normal view of a .jpg image in your browser.

FishBC 3.0 Spreadsheet

Most spreadsheets start out with a fixed number of rows and columns if you need more columns they will be automatically added once you get near the edge. The only exception is the age-length key input, they are restricted to 3 (age information) and 2 (length data) columns however the rows will still be added. You are limited to 350,000 cells in the spreadsheets. That is if you had 50 columns, the maximum number of rows you could have is 7000.

All spreadsheets do not allow you to enter anything in the first gray column or first gray row.  The column titles are automatically displayed for you in the first row.  The first column is reserved for the image analysis and digitizer portion.  They will display a double right arrow to indicate what row your measurements will be entered in.
